Why Hampstead?
A village
within a city
Hampstead sits 80 metres above central London, and on a clear day you can see six counties from Parliament Hill. Its ancient Heath — 320 acres of meadow, woodland and swimming ponds — is a world away from the city below.
The village streets are lined with Georgian townhouses, independent bookshops, and cafés where novelists still sit writing. Keats, Freud, Constable and Orwell all called it home.
