Late Night Eating in and Around Hampstead

Hampstead is not a late-night neighbourhood. By 10pm, most restaurants are taking their last orders; by 11pm, the High Street is largely quiet. But if you need to eat late, these are your best options.

Gaucho — Heath Street

One of the few Hampstead restaurants with a kitchen that genuinely runs until late — last orders around 10.30pm on weeknights, 11pm at weekends. The quality is consistent and the bar is open until midnight. A reliable option if you've missed the earlier rush.

Jin Kichi — Heath Street

Last orders at 10.30pm; the kitchen is among the most reliable late in the evening. The yakitori suffers no quality loss late in service. Worth trying for a walk-in spot if you've left dinner late on a weeknight.

Nando's — Finchley Road

Not glamorous, but reliably open until 11pm and the peri-peri chicken has its place. The Finchley Road branch is a 10-minute bus ride from Hampstead village and serves until close to midnight at weekends.

Kebabs — Finchley Road and West Hampstead

West Hampstead's cluster of Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants on West End Lane includes several that run late — the Istanbul Meze on West End Lane and several others are open until 11.30pm at weekends. The quality is generally good and the prices are reasonable. A 10-minute walk or short bus from Hampstead village.

Deliveries

Deliveroo and Uber Eats both operate in NW3 until around midnight, with most of the area's restaurants participating. For truly late-night cravings (after midnight), the options drop off significantly — a 24-hour petrol station on Finchley Road is your most reliable late-late option.
