Editorial Policy & Corrections
Last updated: 1 April 2026
1. Our Editorial Mission
Hampstead Village London exists to help residents, visitors, and anyone curious about NW3 discover the neighbourhood at its best — its history, its independent businesses, its green spaces, its culture, and its community. We aim to publish content that is accurate, original, genuinely useful, and written with care.
We are an independent publication. We have no ownership or financial relationship with any of the businesses, venues, or organisations we write about, and our coverage is not for sale.
2. Independence & Commercial Relationships
Hampstead Village London is supported by display advertising served through the Google AdSense programme. Advertising revenue does not influence which places or topics we cover, the order in which we rank them, or the tone of our reviews. Advertisers have no editorial input and are not informed of editorial decisions in advance.
We do not currently participate in affiliate marketing programmes. We do not receive commissions, referral fees, free products, or complimentary access in exchange for coverage. If this policy changes in the future, we will disclose it clearly on this page and in any affected content.
Sponsored content, if ever published, will be clearly labelled "Sponsored" or "Advertisement" at the top of the piece.
3. Accuracy & Fact-Checking
We take accuracy seriously. Before publication, factual claims — opening hours, prices, historical dates, addresses, biographical details — are checked against primary sources where possible. These include venue websites, Historic England records, the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, London Metropolitan Archives, and English Heritage's Blue Plaques database.
Place information (names, addresses, ratings, photographs) sourced from the Google Places APIis subject to Google's own data updates and may not always reflect real-world conditions. We recommend confirming time-sensitive details — especially opening hours on public holidays — directly with the venue.
4. Corrections Policy
We are committed to correcting errors promptly and transparently. If you believe something we have published is factually incorrect, please contact us at [email protected] with the subject line "Correction".
Please include:
- The URL of the page containing the error
- A description of the error
- The correct information, with a source if possible
We will acknowledge correction requests within 5 working days. Verified factual errors will be corrected as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours of verification. A correction note will be added to the article where the error was material.
Corrections are made transparently — we do not silently delete or rewrite content to conceal past errors. Where a correction changes the substance of an article, a note in the format "Correction [date]: This article has been updated to correct…" will appear at the foot of the piece.
5. Contributors & Guest Writers
Some articles on Hampstead Village London are written by independent contributors. All contributors are asked to disclose any relevant personal or financial connection to the subject they are writing about before publication. Editors reserve the right to decline, edit, or add disclosures to any contribution.
Guest articles represent the personal views and experiences of their authors and are labelled as such. They do not constitute professional advice of any kind.
6. AI-Assisted Content
Some of our content is drafted or researched with the assistance of AI language tools. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a human editor before publication. We do not publish AI output without human oversight. Factual claims made in AI-assisted articles are held to the same accuracy standards as all other content.
7. Linking Policy
External links are included solely because they are useful to readers. We do not accept payment for outbound links. Links to external websites do not imply endorsement of those sites or their contents.
We review our content periodically to identify and remove broken or outdated links. If you find a broken link, please let us know at [email protected].
8. Updates to This Policy
We review this policy periodically and update it when our practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be noted here.
