1. Information We Collect
When you use the Hampstead Village website or app, we may collect device identifiers, browser information, IP address (anonymised), pages viewed, referring URL, and notification preferences. We do not collect names, email addresses or payment information unless you contact us directly or subscribe to our newsletter.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data to operate and improve the site, personalise content, send relevant push notifications (with your consent), measure visitor traffic, and serve advertising. Aggregated, non-identifying analytics may inform editorial decisions.
3. Cookies & Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website. Essential cookies keep the site functional. Optional analytics and advertising cookies are loaded only after you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser storage.
4. Advertising β Google AdSense
This website uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service operated by Google LLC. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
- Alternatively, you may opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu.
- If you decline advertising cookies via our banner, only non-personalised ads will be shown.
5. Analytics β Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with IP anonymisation enabled. Until you accept analytics cookies, GA operates in cookieless mode using Google Consent Mode v2 β collecting only aggregated, non-identifying signals. After consent, full analytics are enabled. You can opt out at any time via the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
6. Other Third-Party Services
We use Google Maps for location features, Firebase for push notifications (mobile app), Cloudflare for content delivery, TfL API for transport data, and Open-Meteo for weather. Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
Device tokens and preferences are retained for up to 12 months of inactivity, after which they are automatically deleted. Google Analytics retains user-level data for 14 months by default.
8. Your Rights (UK GDPR)
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
9. Children's Privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
