Canning Town
Canning Town station was first opened in 1847 and underwent several changes and relocations over the years. ️ The original station closed in 1888 and a new one was constructed on the north side of Barking Road near Stephenson Street. The station is conveniently located with easy interchange between the Jubilee Line Extension and Docklands Light Railway (DLR). A large bus station is also part of the complex, providing additional transportation options for commuters. ⌛ The DLR extension to Beckton started running through Canning Town in March 1994, with a combined interchange station instead of a separate DLR stop. The booking hall at the station was replaced in the 1960s but remained until May 1994. ⬆️ The tiered design of the station places the DLR platforms above the Jubilee Line platform
